How do you select vintage pieces?

For us it is not the label or the brand of a garment that makes it beautiful.
Above all, we are looking for beautiful, quality pieces, made from noble materials, with beautiful cuts and beautiful details.

Above all, we only accept true vintage: pieces that are at least 20 years old, which were produced before the 2000s, before the advent of fast fashion. No Zara or H&M here. What do we like the most? Seamstresses' pieces made in old French workshops. We often say at Imparfaite that vintage is the natural selection of clothing. If a piece has lasted more than 20 years, it is of quality and has value.

Each season, we analyze sales on Imparfaite to create a trend book that we share with our partner sellers. The important thing is to find beautiful pieces that you like. Depending on what is trendy, we send recommendations to sellers to prioritize these pieces.

Beyond the style, we also pay close attention to the condition of the piece. We ask our partners for impeccable cleanliness on the clothing posted online on the platform. Where possible, everything is washed and refurbished before being put online. Since every piece is vintage, it has already had a former life and bears the marks of its past. On the other hand, we do not accept items that are too stained, large holes, bad odors, marks under the arms, etc.
